Meet The Team
Kara Annand, B.S.A., P.Ag.
Kara grew up on a family farm near Moose Jaw and moved to the Nipawin area in 2002. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a major in Crop Science and a minor in Agri-business. As a Professional Agrologist, Kara has assisted farmers in cropping decisions in Saskatchewan for the last fourteen years. Kara strives to make sure that her customers are informed on current field conditions by staying in constant contact. Using both her extensive network of industry contacts and her experience with growers, Kara is equipped to provide advice on a broad range of agronomic topics.
Wade Annand, B.S.A., P.Ag.
Wade graduated from the College of Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan in 2002. After working in retail, custom spraying, farming, and for Dupont as a territory manager, he focused on starting Ag Grow Consulting in 2008. Wade brings a precise and no-nonsense management style to both the business and his customers. Because agriculture is always changing and moving forward, Wade enjoys learning and helping his employees and growers to learn with him.
Lacey Wilton, B.S.A., P.Ag.
Lacey has six seasons under her belt with Ag Grow Consulting. Every day in this business brings new challenges that make the time fly by. She enjoys working closely with her customers to get through these challenges, from weather problems in the summer or a variety choice in the winter. In the tight margins of this industry, there are decisions that need to be made year round that we carefully plan together. When consulting with her farm clients, she relies heavily on the contacts made while graduating with distinction from the College of Agriculture at the U of S. Local education, a solid network of contacts and a strong passion for agronomy is what makes Lacey a great part of the team at Ag Grow Consulting and the farm clients she works with.
Sarah Derksen, B.S.A., A.Ag
Sarah grew up on farm just outside of Zenon Park, SK, where she enjoyed helping out on the family grain farm. Sarah completed her degree from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Agronomy and a minor in Soil Science. She started as a summer student with Ag Grow Consulting in 2011, and was hired as a full time agronomist in 2014. Sarah is currently working towards her Professional Agrologist designation, and is in the Articulating Agrologist program obtaining many hours of professional development. She is hard working, driven, and pays attention to detail which helps her make the best agronomic decisions and recommendations for her growers.
Jennifer Ellis, B.S.A., A.Ag.
Jennifer completed her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan with Distinction in 2014 with a major in Agronomy and a minor in Agri-business. She started working for Ag Grow Consulting in Moose Jaw in the spring of 2014. She has gained experience in the industry as a summer student for Cargill and with her involvement on her family's grain farm in southwest Saskatchewan. Jenn also attended the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences for a semester during her university education, broadening her perspective of agriculture on a global scale. She hopes to use these experiences and education to help provide customers with sound agronomic advice, which is relevant to their operation.
Carissa Watson, B.S.A.
Carissa grew up in White Fox, Saskatchewan on her family farm. She was involved in the family farm at a young age, and to this day remains actively involved in the operation. Carissa graduated in 2012 from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. Upon graduating she was employed for three years as a Business Agronomist for Cavalier Agrow, an independent retail in North West Saskatchewan. This experience has helped her gain valuable, agronomic knowledge, in the areas of weed identification, product recommendations, insect identification, crop staging and fertility. She was also able to have hands on experience with large, field scale trials that tested new products that were being introduced to the industry. Carissa is a dedicated, detail oriented and knowledgeable agronomist who strives to provide her clients with the most accurate recommendations to help increase their farms profitability. Carissa started her position with Ag Grow in May of 2015 and looks forward to getting to know her customers in the coming years.
Meghan Rosso, M.Sc., A.Ag.
Meghan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture majoring in Environmental Science and a Masters of Science majoring in Soil Science from the University of Saskatchewan. By combining her in-field and academic experience, she keeps her customers up to date with agronomic information to make the best decisions for their farm. Meghan is always available and provides a positive influence to keep her growers on track.
Amanda Wuchner, B.S.A., A.Ag.
Amanda completed her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan with Distinction in 2016 with a major in Agronomy. Throughout her University career she gained experience by working for BASF, Monsanto, the University of Saskatchewan Soils Department and the Canola Council of Canada. Originally from Humboldt, she still goes back to the family farm to help with harvest. She started working for Ag Grow Consulting in the spring of 2016.
Lyndsay Gadd, B.S.A., A.Ag.
Lyndsay found her passion for agriculture on her family farm, near Briercrest, SK helping out during seeding and harvest. During her time at university, she spent her summers working in research, and later working in retail where she gained basic knowledge about various crops, chemicals and agronomic issues. In 2014 she received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in Crop Science and minoring in Nutrition. After graduation Lyndsay gained international agriculture experience in Australia while visiting a retail and farms soaking up the agricultural differences between Canada and Australia. With her wide range of experience and education Lyndsay plans to provide the most up to date advice to farmers in the area.
Jillian worked in the customer service industry in Saskatoon and Edmonton until 2011 when she married Travis Sharko and they relocated from Edmonton back to her hometown of Mervin, SK. While there, she worked for Cavalier Agrow in their administration department. Last year, they moved to Carrot River to settle on Travis’ family farm with their son Oliver. Jillian is dedicated to providing quality admin and technical support for our crop scouts so that they can spend their time and focus where it needs to be – in our farmer’s fields!
Brayden Knackstedt, B.S.A., A.Ag.
Brayden grew up in Pike Lake, Saskatchewan working on his family honey farm. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan with a major in Agronomy and minor in Agbusiness. Throughout university he gained experience working for Dow Agrosciences as a summer student. Brayden also tries to make it to the original family grain farm near Wilkie, Saskatchewan for harvest. He started working for Ag Grow Consulting in the spring of 2016
Chelsea Richter, B.S.A., A.Ag.
Chelsea grew up on a family grain farm outside of Broadview, SK. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan with a major in Agronomy. Throughout University, she gained experience working in canola research and retail. After graduation, Chelsea worked as an Agronomist for Cargill, where she gained valuable knowledge in crop scouting, pest identification, product recommendations, and soil fertility. She is currently working towards her Professional Agrologist designation with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Chelsea started with Ag Grow Consulting in March 2017, and looks forward to building relationships with customers and providing them with exceptional agronomic support.
Nadine Crosbie, B.S.A., A.Ag.
Nadine grew up near Caron, SK working on her family’s dairy farm. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan in the spring of 2015. Throughout University, she gained agronomy experience working as a summer student with Cargill. After graduation, she gained international agriculture experience in Australia and New Zealand while visiting and working on a few family farms. After returning to Canada, she took on a full time Agronomist role with Cargill where she gained valuable knowledge in crop scouting, pest identification and product recommendations. She is currently working towards her Professional Agrologist designation with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Nadine started working with Ag Grow Consulting in April 2017.
Matt Hordos, B.Sc.,CCA
Matt grew up on a family farm SE of Raymore, Saskatchewan, which was a mix farm of grain and beef cattle. He was involved in the farm at a very young age, and now farms NE of White Fox, SK. Matt obtained a B. Sc. at the University of Regina. He started his career working with Monsanto with their trait development team. He then moved on to work for Cargill as an agronomist. Matt is passionate about working with customers and developing trusted relationships, in working together to make their farms more profitable. Matt started with Ag Grow in January of 2018.
Dustin grew up in Arborfield, SK and now he and his wife, Alisa, reside on an acreage near Love, SK. He began working for Ag Grow Consulting in 2011 and looks after the day to day repair and maintenance of all of Ag Grow’s equipment. Dustin is heavily involved in the upkeep and preparation of the plot sites for Ag Grow Research. If you are looking for him in the fall, you will find him in a field covering many acres of both composite and VR soil testing.
